RECLAMATION: A Black Arts Gathering is a bringing together of Black creatives and arts workers around live performance over 6 days in Toronto. As a part of the Decade of Black Performance (happening within the 2nd Decade of the UN’s Decade of People of African), the Black Pledge gathers together with joy toward our collective liberation. Join us at various venues, including Union Station and Wild Seed Centre for Art and Activism for performances, workshops, and hang outs.

Do I have to be a professional Black artist to attend?
We encourage anyone to attend who has a deep relationship to performance and creation to attend. All levels and career stages are welcome. We trust people to self identify and self select workshops that speak to both their skill level and interest in performance and creation.
Can I mix and match workshops on each day? I want to attend more than one in one day?
Unfortunately, each participant can attend one workshop per day. We’re trying a ting, so give us your feedback about how it worked.
ACCESSIBILITY & CARE
No cost/Free spots for August 7 - 9, 2025
We have no cost/free spots available on August 7 - 9, 2025. Please be mindful of your availability upon registering and if you are unable to attend after receiving your no cost spot, cancel your registration. Email ggrant@theblackpledge.ca for a promo code.
Food
Lunch will be available on August 6 - 9. Finger Foods and snacks will be available on August 10.
Space
All spaces are wheelchair accessible and accessible by public transit. Wild Seed also has gender neutral, wheelchair accessible washrooms, as well as a barrier free entry and elevators.
Compassion Fund for Transport, Child Care & Other Expenses
Thanks to Balancing Act, we are available to provide $50 per person for up to 25 people to cover childcare, transportation or other care needs for August 6 - 9. Please choose Compassion Fund in the ticket order form to access these supports.
Chill Out Space
For August 6 - 9, there will be a chill out/quiet space for anyone who needs it.
